Position Overview:
The Landscape Crew Leader is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing and working alongside a crew of 2–10 team members. This position ensures daily operations run smoothly, projects stay on schedule, and quality expectations are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive early to review daily schedules, job details, and any updates.
- Ensure trucks, tools, and materials are prepared and ready before crew arrival.
- Lead and supervise a crew of 2-6 employees on landscaping projects.
- Ensure jobs are completed on time and within allocated labor hours.
- Complete daily timesheets, tracking labor, equipment, and materials used.
- Oversee job sites and ensure all work meets company quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding updates, changes, or concerns.
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services when appropriate.
- Train, guide, and support crew members; assist with performance feedback.
- Enforce safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain job documentation (work orders, change orders, etc.).
- Coordinate with management and other departments as needed.
- Conduct inventory checks and report equipment or supply needs.
- Assist with scheduling and organizing daily workloads.
- Be available for snow removal operations when required.
Qualifications:
- Previous landscaping experience required; leadership experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Valid driver’s license (required).
Schedule:
- Full-time, with early morning start times.
- Seasonal workload (busier March–November, lighter in winter).
- Availability for snow events during winter months.
